Don't tell me you bought that incubator and you are only going to use it once :th

:lau:oops:

@Kiki would kill me if I did that!

I’m sure I probably will. It’s just been so stressful and I don’t know if I’m cut out for it. But I’m sure once the chicks hatch (if any) then I will like it again LOL

But it will probably be a while. Maybe at least until spring. Or I may try to use a broody next time. Idk.

You need to do quail :gigim sure I'll hatch more in the winter next year just because I like to punish myself!

I'm thinking about moving my incubator into our walk-in closet because when the chicks hatch I can't have that sitting on my nightstand. Either the beagle or the cat will get into it and kill the chicks! I was thinking about taking the Turner out tonight too.

:lau true!!! I’ll probably at least do quail!!

And that’s a good idea!!!i should have put mine in a closet lol

And I’d def take the turner out.

I'm glad to see some good news this morning on the eggs! I truly think that the turner was very ineffective or not working especially since the eggs have now corrected. At least you caught it when you did!

I have only 4 days left :th

Im thinking about taking my turner out today. I took the turner out of day 15 my first hatch, today is day 17. Local egg chicks are so cramped I wouldn't be shocked if they try to hatch too early!
How are your eggs doing? How many did you set. Long thread to go back if you said, LOL!!!

Okay, I’m gonna change it up and start with the GOOD NEWS for once because I’ve been focused way too much on the negative/sending out way too much chaotic energy lately. :lau :hide

I apologize for that. I know this thread has been a bit of a mess. :hide

Soooo....

I just went to turn the eggs again and candled a few while I was at it and.... I SAW SOME REAL LIVE WIGGLERS!!!! :D
:celebrate:woot:wee:ya:jumpy

I’ll try to get a video in a second but it was super duper exciting so I had to share!!! :D

Now, the reason for the candle, is less good, not exactly bad but just kinda frustrating. I wanted to make sure they were still alive because my mother had apparently turned the heat way up in my room at some point and I had my first real, actual, incubator temp spike because of it. Even the calibrated was reading at least 101 and who knows how long it was like that for! :barnie

I turned the heat down in the room and left the incubator lid open a bit while I turned, not totally off but open, to cool it down.

But the GOOD NEWS is THERES STILL AT LEAST TWO REAL LIVE BABIES!!!!! :celebrate:woot
