It looks like some of the embryos are stuck on the side of the egg or is it just me?
Maybe? I was wondering why only one side of the eggs was dark

I don't think that the turner is working or it's not as effective... I have the one where you stick the eggs in the hole and it rotates them to different positions all day. I don't have one where they lay down in the incubator, my eggs don't lay down in the incubator until it's day 16 or more when I take out the turner.Maybe? I was wondering why only one side of the eggs was dark![]()

It looks like the embryos are stuck on the side of the egg... I'll take a pic of my eggs right now to show you the difference. May take me a second because the dogs are bugging me... I just cooked a dozen eggs for them and they want them so they think that tripping me is going to help
I would hand turn them until day 18 because it just looks like it's not doing what it's supposed to.Yeah I think the Hovabator has that. I think that’s how most turners are. But this one says it’s supposed to “mimic nature” or mimic a mother hen or some such thing by rolling the eggs. Which is good in theory except I really don’t think it’s rolling them much. But then again other people have good hatches from it so idk. I think my eggs are maybe also too small for it? I have some really small ones so maybe they are not turning effectively.
Should I try hand turning them? Or is it too late?
And okay thanks. If you wanna give the dogs their eggs first that’s perfectly fine![]()

The eggs that have the embryo on one side try to turn them to the other side and see if it will correct them. In my head I think it may work, but I don't know.
I'll have to wait until DH gets home, my candler is dead! And of course I have no AAA batteries!
I have pictures from my other hatch so I can show you those.
This was 14 days

The only reason why I think that the embryos are stuck is because it should be equal throughout the egg not to one side. I'm not an expert though...
When my grandfather did ostrich eggs he made sure that they laid in four different positions every day so he would turn the eggs four times a day.
Did you ever mark the eggs with an x and an o? maybe Mark one side with an x and one side with an o and see if the turner is working. Watch it for the day and see if it's staying only on one side.
If you watch it today until maybe around 6 p.m. you'll know if the eggs have been just staying in the same position.
If that's the case you can hand turn them to try to correct the issue.
Does an embryo being stuck on the side of the shell cause it to die, or does it continue to live? Hmmmm now I'm wondering
