Did you figure out if the turner is even turning the eggs fully?
I thought I was going to need blood pressure medicine there for a minute.
I was almost screaming at my phone.![]()
i dont think that turner can turn the eggs over all the way
@KDOGG331 its time to turn the eggs lol
I snorted from laughing so hard and woke up the dogs.
She reminds me a little of my cousin.
So what's the point of that turner because if you're not fully turning them, wouldn't the embryo stick?
I'm completely confused about the effectiveness of this turner. I'm almost to the point where I'm going to buy it for my next hatch so I can see how it works because it doesn't make sense to me.
I hope she set an alarm on her phone.
She's not going to like it if I call her right now.
I don't understand it either.
Let me Go dig and see who else has this exact incubator so they can try and explain to me how the turner works.
Blow her phone up...
Same here. Busy morning, busy start to the afternoon, sit down to look at the computer and check for PMs and WHOW! I caught up to about page 86 but decided to skip ahead to the end of this book's chapter.
I understand the principal of how the turner works. It's like a roller activated conveyor belt isn't it? Rods under the eggs turn and supposedly gently roll the eggs in a side to side roll?
I agree with @FortCluck and everyone else. That turner isn't working. Not your fault and don't give up.
What I do is use a wax pencil or marking pen and write 1-2-3-4 on each 'side' of the egg. I usually manually turn the eggs 5-6 times a day. My Brinsea says not to stop rolling on the same number that you start on that day. So I'm usually turning them at least 5 times, 6 at the most.
Last Christmas, DH got me a 'manual' turner for my little Brinsea so I don't have to take the dome off and make the heat fluctuate too much while turning. What I noticed is if the eggs are pretty uniform in size, it works well, but even small deviations in size, the 'odd' shaped egg, usually larger than the others, does not turn uniformly. Having 4 numbers on my eggs allows me to visually keep track of which eggs are being turned, which aren't and which eggs need to be manually turned. What I also do is rotate orientation of the eggs, spinning them around so if the air cell is facing the outside of the dome, it's now facing the water well in the middle of the bator. So on. I do that once or twice a day.
I'm in agreement. Don't give up. Manually turn the eggs. If you haven't marked them yet, do it now so you can keep track of when you last turned them. If you have #2 on top at the end of the day and you started the day with 2 on top, oops!
I'll catch up later. At the moment I'm busy being a domestic goddess.....namely cleaning house!
I'm doing the same thing! I have 21 messy chicks in our spare room driving me nuts. I literally think I'm allergic to chicken dander I am so itchy from being in that room!
I bought an ear purifier for that room but for some reason it hasn't even shipped but it was supposed to arrive todayi also just dumped a gallon of water all over my kitchen

ear purifier lol nice
I swear I'm allergic to bird dander. I have a parakeet too and it was near the fan I put on at night... My face started getting itchy so I moved it and haven't had that issue until today with these chicks!
AIR PURIFIER... This phone charges everything to make me look like an idiot
You are not unlucky.Day 10
Close. 10.
whoops
You and @Kiki are probably solely supporting that company.
Not yet. I’m not home. I’ll check when I get back.
Sorry
Yeah I don’t think it can either. Wish I knew that before buying it.
I’m not home
OMG
And I assume that’s not a good thing![]()
That’s what I would think but people have good hatches from it so who knows. Maybe I’m just unlucky lol
I did see a video where it said hand turning you turn like 180 degrees but most eggs will be fine with 60. So maybe they really think you don’t have to fully turn lol
And you should and see if you have better luck with homegrown versus shipped eggs.
I didn’t.
But I will now.
AndI wouldn’t have cared honestly lol you can if you want. Although texting was effective too
Thank you I would appreciate that. It might be the operator more than the incubator though.
she did
I need to set an alarm.
She’s hilarious lol
Sorryskipping was a good idea though lol
And it doesn’t have rods under it but that arm on the right side extends out and retracts back so it pushes the tray over and pulls it back. But it doesn’t do it all at once. Small movements. Until eventually it’s on the other side. Turns 6 times a day.
And thank you, this makes me feel a lot better. I’m going to try this. I did mark with x and o but I’m going to try this.
Andsounds like fun
Oh wow that would drive me batty!! Lol
I’ve got fish supplies all over my room but mostly in one pile and it’s driving me crazy!! Lol gotta find a container for it all.
Autocorrect is getting everyone it seems!!!
You are not unlucky.
You just need a calibrated thermometer.
I think your number one problem is temperature.I’m gonna go find one now.
Although the turner bit too. Seems to work for other people. Which is why I was thinking maybe I’m unlucky haha
I think your number one problem is temperature.
Forget about the Turner issue.
It's probably working just fine I'm just not used to that type of turner so I don't know.
