Did I do something wrong or has it just not been long enough? I set it up last night so I think it’s been 12 hours?

I thought that would be long enough? Overnight?

Maybe not quite?

Or maybe I have too much water in the mix and/or not enough salt?

I don’t have time to set the eggs this morning anyway so I guess I’ll just wait and see if the hygrometers get a little more accurate?

The bator is running slightly cool but I’m not gonna worry about it too much. I left it alone for now but did turn the heat in my room up very slightly.

Put them in the same zip lock bag to see if they are reading the same.

Ohh good point! I didn’t even think of that! I’ll do that. Although if I open it now, wouldn’t it mess up the readings and take forever to stabilize again?

Would that make it that far off? Wouldn’t that make it more humid in there?

I’ll dump some water out. And put them in the same one.

Your incubator could read 101 all day long and you won't know if it's really 101 unless you have a calibrated thermometer.

I promise you this made zero sense to me before I started hatching....I could not understand how a brand new thermometer could be wrong but they are.

Yes! My brand new incubator is way off. I think that's the reason so many hatches go wrong because many trust what the incubator says

@Texas Kiki is this at all better? They’ve both been climbing since being put in here. But now I’ve gotta wait another 12 hours for it to stabilize again.

I think I’ll just set the eggs before that anyway though.

I just checked my eggs... Two are not fertile. That barred rock is about to be crispy fried why won't she just breed with my roosters and get it over with? She screams at them! My boys are so nice, but she doesn't think so.
