i think they are too young for night temps in your area

I'm probably going to wait two more weeks, but the temps are only going to get colder! I've been shutting off their light some during the day to get them used to cooler air because throwing them out from room temp to 40s wouldn't be nice!

We kind of can't... It's not ours to fix lol. We do not own this property.

Aw dang that stinks lol they won’t let you add some hardware cloth or anything? Or maybe you could add it to the run?

I did put chicken wire along the bottom of the chain link dog kennel, I got halfway done. My husband thinks they'll be fine outside with the heat bulb. We are in the 50s and the temp drops to the 30s at night.

I think as long as they don’t get out they should be safe from the cats hah

And hmmm... yeah. Idk. I’d probably wait a week or two lol

Although they do feather faster outside haha

They're wild today! They keep jumping up pecking the heat lamp! They're crazy birds!

Once they go out, they're staying out there chasing 21 chicks doesn't sound like fun to me! I think I'll set up the light outside and sit under it so see what temp it brings my mobile coop to.

We don't really get predators. Our neighbors hounds chase anything off our property. I'll be locking them up at night inside a mobile coop I made. We still have to finish it though. I'm hanging the light inside the mobile coop.

My husband said what's the worse that's going to happen... We lose one or two. We are eating them anyways Hes so blunt it's not even funny. I told him it better not be the ones I want to keep or I'll hatch more chicks!

I'm not raising anymore chicks in the winter. This is the second time I do it and I don't even know why I'm trying again... My last ones did amazing outside, but most were roosters and I had only 1 pullet!

Maybe I'll wait until the beginning of December. Only issue is I have those other 12 chicks hatching next weekend! Where do I put them? I think I'll have to make a divider so they can see each other but not touch then I'll let them all be together after about a week!
