Okay thank you.

Thanks!! I’ll try this next time.

The weird thing was the box was in perfect condition, no damage or even dents or anything and was packed extremely well, 2 foam pads on bottom, then the foam egg shipper and the eggs, then a foam pad on top, then some foam pieces (not peanuts, big, almost like the holes from the egg shipper), then two of those cardboard egg flat thingies. And it was very lightly marked, I think just one mediumish sticker on top that just said fragile hatching eggs. So it’s weird. Doesn’t look like they abused it but who knows. I have seen horror stories of boxes being completely broken and kicked and such but this one still looked brand new so

But next time I’ll see if they can leave the stickers off hah

And I’ll put them in right away next time.

Thanks. :)

Wonder if maybe the cold affected it? It was pretty mild the week they shipped but who knows what it was like elsewhere.
I'm going to guess that if the cold affected them then they would not have even started developing.
Some clearly started to develop and then quit.

Thanks. That makes sense. Though I thought I read it was bad to put them in right away without letting them get to room temp first? But mine were probably already at room temp in the PO haha they were sitting by the desk not in the back
Stop reading stuff.

You are focusing on reading unimportant stuff and you missed the most important thing.

To calibrate a thermometer!!!!

A shaken box can look unmolested.

Hmm good point. Didn’t think of that!!

If I had a flock of layers I'd send 2 boxes 1 with writing 1 without

That would be an interesting experiment. I’d like to see what happens hah

Hmm good point. Why do you think they quit? Temperature? Should I throw out the definite quitters if there are any or keep them all in for now?

I haven’t read anything in a while!! I just read that when I was waiting for the eggs haha

And not like I purposely sought it out :lau

I read the entire Hatching 101 article and I think it was in there as well as the directions that came with the eggs and I think a couple people on this thread even said it haha

But probably definitely not as important as temp. Which was probably also mentioned in that article. :hide

I did salt test but must have missed the calibration bit. :hide

I am never going to let you live this down.
:D

:lau :hide

I probably won’t either :lau

temp swings prolly did them in. She had a lot

Probably. :(

I wonder if the room temp being a bit unstable could have affected it too? The hall got really cold for a couple days last week.
