I'd add water. That humidity is really low, if it's accurate. Did you calibrate your hygrometer? How come your humidity keeps crashing? Are you only adding a little bit of water each time?One appears to be zipped already!!![]()
But the membrane seems pretty dry??? And the humidity is super low only between like 31-33%
I don’t want to open it and shrink wrap/kill her but I also don’t want it to get stuck while we’re gone. We have to leave by 12:30 to go to my uncle’s. I don’t know if I should add water or not. The membrane seems super dry but I know if I open it I might kill it but I also might if I don’t and leave it all day
It’s chirping and trying super hard but not making much progress.
@Kiki @FortCluck
Any ideas!? I know it’s Thanksgiving but I’d like to know before I leave so I can help it if necessary or I’ll just leave it alone.

Sponges just dry out super fast. I don't like them. Do you have trenches in the bottom? If so, fill em up completely. It's surface area that gets humidity up, but it's depth that makes that humidity level stay stable over time.Thank you everyone!! So should I try to slit the membrane or just add water? And yes @Kiki it made that hole all by itself.
@BantyChooks I’m not really sure why the humidity keeps crashing.I thought I added a decent amount last night but apparently not.
Should I try a sponge maybe? Idk if we have new ones but I can look
If you have all the trenches filled, then I'm pretty sure it's good enough no matter what the thing says.Oh and I did calibrate them so I’m pretty sure it’s accurate but
It won’t stay above 40.![]()
