Nope, supposed to be 20 mph winds - too bad, too, cause Jon has the day off work, I could go early. But I doubt many will be there.

But, if I wait to go after the ducklings get here, I can take my extras there and sell them along with all the roos I have

I may have some chicks, too - although I'll probably wait til they are older to take them, since it is cold out - I'd hate for them to get chilled and die on me. It depends on how many I have hatch.

I dropped an egg the other day while candling/switching them to the hatcher, and it wasn't fertile, it broke and was just - well, egglike. I hope most of them are fertile, though. I didn't get to candle that one before I dropped it, so I don't know how it looked - the others all seemed to be fertile looking, though. Happily it wasn't spoiled and stinky, just warm egg. Some of it dripped into the playpen and the chicks ate it up

before I could get it all cleaned up they were on it.

Oh, and don't bother saving a puppy for me, I'd love to have one, but I can't - already have two dogs. I just want to see them and rub their tummies and sniff that "new puppy" smell

I know, I told dad that I told you I'd warn you before we take them to Sano. He was just being cute

I wish they had that new puppy smell

poor things got wet with all the rain we had. Dad had one of those big plastic barrels for a house for her and it rained right in it. Now the poor babies smell like wet dog

He had brought one in that either couldn't get out of the house, or that the mama couldn't get out. She was soaked!! Dad brought her in so I could dry her real well. Cris was holding her and said 'what's that smell?' I told him she just smells like a wet dog! But I agree, I love the smell of puppy breath!

One of those weird things I guess! I also love the smell of horses, of course unless they are farting at the time

horses farting -- our old horse will wait at the gate for ya, then turn as you walk through it and walk away farting. If she lifts her tail and puckers, ya better hold your breath.

They ought to bottle "puppy breath" smell - you'd get yourself a Hunter Man really easy using that as perfume

maybe a perfume mix of puppy breath and gunpowder. (I like the smell of gunpowder, too

Can't really say when I've smelled gunpowder that much, but I do like the smell of zippo lighters. And cigars. My uncle used to smoke cigars all the time, and I loved going to his house!

I had never knew of horses farting till a few months ago. Dad was moving his horses from the pond side to the non-pond side (if that's a word). Dad was kinda 'squatting' down, and he stood up just as his big gelding took off running into the pasture. I thought it was my dad that did it!!

I didn't believe dad till the horse came by again, tossed up his tail, kicked up his heels, and let her rip!!

I just about died laughing!! Funniest thing I have ever seen! Cristian still thinks it was my dad! He doesn't believe that animals do that!

Hey all, everyone well this morning?
Due to a family crisis I will have to liquidate our flock for the time being. I will be giving some of the chickens that the kids are most attached to, to the school librarian then the rest will be sold. Other than the ducks( because Meri gets first bid on those) I will get together a list in the next week of the available birds. Prices will be negotiable to a point. I also have a huge parrot cage in good condition for 100.00 that will need to be powerwashed and painted,it has perches and feed dishes built in...It will be great for Seramas to be kept in. I will be selling the coop/run that I just got last month it cost me 34.33 + 215.00 shpg. I will be asking 150.00 for it(Karen this might be good for your babies to play outside in). I'll be selling both of my LGs 80.00 for both...One has a turner and fan the other is standard. I have cages and bins for brooding or carrying. I also have a large scale one level brooder but I want to see if Meri is interested in it before I price it here. Since she will be doing some large scale incubating.

Have a great day! Cindy

I'm sorry to hear about this Cindy. I know you mentioned something the other night, but I was hoping/praying things would be ok.

I'll be happy to take the ducks, and PM me about the brooder when you get the time, I might be interested in that, too. No hurries, I know you must be stressed right now.

Thanks Shelley, Unless you really absolutely want her I was going to give her to the librarian with the Rosecombs...Her husband loves those little girls. Let me know and if you really want to keep her I'll give her back. I'm also giving her Raoul, and his girls, BC, Little Man, Terminator, Moonlight and Sunshine, Belle, Splat and probably LucyToo...There may be a few more but I have to talk to the kids about it.

Hey Shelley -

I had a blue and brown spotted button egg this morning - it was mostly light blue - do they lay different colored eggs from the same hen? My other button eggs have been a rusty color and a regular brownish spotted color - one of each per day.

eta - it looks like a light blue egg that had two spots of brown smudged onto it.

Cindy, I am sorry to hear that you will have to disperse your flock. If there is anything I can do, please let me know, even if it's just an ear to vent in. I know Shelley and Meri are closer to you, but if I can possibly help the offer stands.
