Thanks Shelley, Unless you really absolutely want her I was going to give her to the librarian with the Rosecombs...Her husband loves those little girls. Let me know and if you really want to keep her I'll give her back. I'm also giving her Raoul, and his girls, BC, Little Man, Terminator, Moonlight and Sunshine, Belle, Splat and probably LucyToo...There may be a few more but I have to talk to the kids about it.

No that's fine. It's just that you said the ones the kids were attached to were the ones you were taking, so I figured she would be one that was to be sold. But that's fine if you want to give her to the librarian.

Mojo Chick'n :

Hey Shelley -

I had a blue and brown spotted button egg this morning - it was mostly light blue - do they lay different colored eggs from the same hen? My other button eggs have been a rusty color and a regular brownish spotted color - one of each per day.

eta - it looks like a light blue egg that had two spots of brown smudged onto it.

meri

Yeah, they can lay different colored eggs, but usually the lighter colored ones are because they laid them too early. Probably got stressed out about something.

That @#%! jap pullet is sick

I sure hope it's not contagious!! Her and the cockerel are in the building where ALL my hens hang out, in a raised cage. All the feed they drop out of their pan falls below, and the other chickens eat it. Plus they are right next to my bantam cochins.

She has been kinda fluffy looking. I figured it was just that she couldn't walk on that wire very well, so I put a piece of that black cardwood board in there to give them some better footing. There was a huge pile of snot in there, and the cockerel looks fine. I'm gonna take them back to Sano and get rid of them. I'll just hope like heck that none of my 'friends' want to buy them. Maybe I'll just put them through the auction so the people won't know who brought them.

I don't know, I really hate to get rid of them, but I don't want any chickens that are sick either. The only times I have had chickens die has been from overcrowding. Too many babies in too small of a space for too long. I would hate for something to wipe them all out. I have to go and feed everyone before we leave, so I'll look again. I'll be back after we get home from the sale.

Q -Your chicken has clear watery poop with a little white in it?

A - First, the white part of the feces is normal. Chickens do not urinate and expel uric acid along with their feces. Do not worry about the white stuff.
The runny/watery poop is a bit of a concern. A change in diet can do this and if the hens are eating more fruit this time of year that will cause the change. Watch for blood in the stools and make sure they have plenty of clean fresh water as too much loss of liquid will damage or kill the birds. There are products available at feed stores to add to the grain they eat to help reduce this problem but be careful of overuse.

4+ acres, Mobile home, trailers, barn,

States that they are 12-17 miles outside of Columbia, Burkesville, Edmonton.

Owner moved out of state, and wants to sell one or both properties. Used to have a computer repair shop housed in the barn.

Shelley, is this close to you or Meri? Of the two, the second property seems the better deal, even though it has less land. Course if I hit the lotto, I could buy both!
