Kentucky people

We currently have several golden laced that are 3 weeks old. Then we have a small incubator with some in it to hatch out in 10 days. But the golden laced are the only ones we have. Let me know some time that you may be traveling westward and maybe we could meet. But I work weird shifts. I have to work tonight and every night through Saturday this week.

Well we just completed the latest hatch. Out of 204 (the incubator holds 210) we hatched about 170. We lost about 5 after the hatch. We have a cabinet incubator. We are getting a little better each time. The 1st 2 times we knew nothing. Now we are figuring it out with the humidity and stuff. But most of the eggs that are not hatching are in the middle??

OMG! The news tonite said a poultry farm some where in Kentucky has been quaratined for bird flu! They won't say where it is but 20,000 birds have already been put down. This can't be good. It will proably shut down any swaps or auctions at the very least!

Well guess that will curtail me going to anyu auctions by myself. I'll need to take one of the more experienced peoples with me to make sure that I don't bring home something. Besides, I really don't need anymore chickens at the moment.

That's cool, I only had one baby hatch

The other eggs were all quitters, some of them had quit like a week ago. I guess I need a new candler. I still would love to know what the deal is with my bators!! I think it has to do with the still air. When I use the hova I get decent hatches. I can't hatch crap in the LG!

I might move the one still air that I use for incubating into my bathroom, it seemed to do better there. I don't know, I'll have to figure something out. I have more muscovy eggs on the way, probably tomorrow, and they will have to go in there.

Do you still have any of those fans you had at Sano?? I went to turn my fan back on in my bator, and it had quit. I guess they aren't supposed to be used constantly

I don't know where it is, but someone posted using computer fans..I sell computer accessories on Ebay so I have several of them that aren't listed there. I haven't tried it myself ( I have still air incubators) but I would like to.

yeah, I have some fans still, I'll bring some out to Sano this friday (hope it is nice enough out to go).

Hubby bought a few extras so I'd have a spare and he could sell others at Sano (for more than he paid for em.)

eta - I got one fan that acts weird, too - slows down soemtimes, then works normal, it needs to be replaced, too.
