Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everybody has a safe and Happy Holiday. Sorry to have been MIA for awhile but my oldest living brother passed away and I have been attending to family matters.

AM, hope the silkies are working out for you, I did have them rather spoiled and they are probably not used to having such a large amount of space to roam in.

I finally got the brakes fixed on the van, only to be told that I have a tie rod that needs to be replaced. They had to replace both rotors and drums, pads and shoes plus fix a leaky seal on a rear brake. Now I have to get that fixed and a front end alignment, a tune up and it should be ready for a real road trip after the first of the year. Gonna take the repair bills to the place I bought it at and see about having some more knocked off the balance.

And you can add me to the group that hates mud!

I love the gifts that are useful. I prefer them over somthing to put on a shelf and watch the dust collect. I keep asking Santa to bring me an egg turner but I think he didn't get the message. Darn:confused:

Hello

We ended up having a very nice Christmas and it wasnt about gifts... it was just nice to spend time with our Families. I posted a Christmas blog on my All Because 2 People Fell In Love blog (link below) if ya want to see.

Man its cold outside...

I'm usually in the hobby forum (crochet) and the recipe forum...

I'm so over coldness/winter... I WANT SPRING/SUMMER TO HURRY UP AND GET HERE! I really miss sitting outside watching my chickens, yesterday I bundled up and went to the coop to check on them and ended up staying out there about an hour... I gave my momma hen and her 4 babies more room in the coop and wanted to make sure they were going to be ok, plus I love watching them... toes started to get cold, so I thought I'd better come back in

Hi everyone!

I usually just "lurk" here and read what everyone else is doing but thought I'd put in my two cents this morning. It's not quite so cold up on the hill this morning, but still not Spring yet. Now is when I start counting the days 'til warmer weather. At least I have something else to count now since I put 24 eggs in the incubator yesterday. Let's see, 9 more days 'til I candle, then 8 more days 'til lockdown . . . sounds shorter when I break it up like that.

I know my chickens are tired of snow - they hate it. One day last week it had snowed a little overnight (an inch maybe!). When I went to let the chickens out, they all bolted out the door,as usual, then immediately slammed on the brakes as a group when they hit the snow outside, turned and ran right back into the coop. It was very funny!

Although, obviously, they were not amused. I left the door open for quite a while but none would ever go out. I finally gave up and locked them up until the next day when the snow had cleared off some. Yesterday they did go out since there were bare patches. They are very funny because they run through the snow covered areas really fast to get to the grassy areas. The Faverolles are the smartest of the bunch, they just head straight to the barn and hang out there all afternoon.
