Yeah, those are the only towns I can think of, and you don't even have to slow down for Hodgenville, the road turns before you get to the town. It's pretty easy, and it only takes like an hour and a half from here to get to Louisville, unless dad's driving!

Talk about an old grampa!

The weather down here won't be quite as bad, just rain, it looks like, although it did say 20 mph winds all day tomorrow

Looks like next Saturday isn't going to be bad - so maybe the early sunday morning drive will be ok - unless E-town / Lousiville area gets dumped on and we don't.

Luckily I don't have to go tomorrow morning - I hate driving in high winds.

Well, then since you come down at least once a month I guess that makes you one of us...You should be so proud...Hang around and get in on our chats, read some of the listings. A lot to learn, and a lot of great folks. We have some great enablers here in the forum, and we like to have fun. We won't toilet paper your house or anything but we may do a drop n run if we need to rehome a chicken... J/K

Sorry I haven't been on long enough to hold a conversation with you guys...Been getting ready for MILs B-day party tomorrow, technically today. Anyway just wanted to say hey and good night, have a big day tomorrow. Maybe I'll just say I'm sick and stay in bed.

I'm here!!!! Got a major problem with the pigeons! Dad left the door of the coop open a bit, and his homer pair got out!! They have babies in the coop, so they haven't left yet. I'm thinking I'm gonna open the door and let them all out in the hopes that the others come in.

Bummer, not sure what to tell ya there.

Too bad you don't have a door that will open to let them in, but not out. Like a pigeon door, for when they go out flying and come back (is there such a thing?)

Yes there is. It's called a Trap, and it's an opening over a landing board, that has a multiple of metal wires hanging from the top called bobs. They are long enough to hang below the bottom edge and prevent the pigeons from going out. You can also open it upwards so they can go out with out having to have a big door.

Check out Foy's Pigeon Supplies to see what they look like. They are on page 69 of their catalogue.

Here is a link for those interested in building a starter loft from scratch. He gives materials list, step by step instructions. With a couple of modifications it could also be used for chickens.

Great links FrChuckW! Those coops are about the size of mine if you don't add the front extension. They give me some ideas. I also like the webb layout where you can see other peoples coops. I looked at everyone of them except Godzilla's and the link would not work.

cthrash...: what happened to your avatiar? I didn't recognize you at first. Kind of like changing your hair collor and me thinking you were a different woman! You need to give a man warning before doing something like that.
