Well, maybe the little girl duck was just too cold to quack yesterday morning,
She certainly told me in no uncertain terms this morning to hurry and fill the water dish. It wasn't excessive, but it was demanding
Once she had her water, she was happy, and hushed up.
I'm gonna try to get them to go out again today and free range a little and explore the place. I'll put them back inside tonight (probably at dinner time) but if I can get them to venture out a little each day, maybe they'll get used to the idea. I'll wait to let them out til later in the day, so they won't be out long. They might feel more comfortable, too, once there are more ducks to wander with.
Jr. spent the night outside, but she was there this morning when I went out to do chores. I looked all over for her last night, not sure where she slept - not in the open, for sure. Cinnabon was out, too - but I found her. Poor girl was hunkered down by the shrubs out front, like she planned to stay put - probably trying to warm her feet up. Once she realized everyone else went inside, she went right to the coop, though. Jr. is used to sleeping out, though, and Cinn isn't.
Jr. can be pretty wild - she is one strange chicken.
