Duck eggs? That's it? I have those chicks, 2 golden comet pullets, one columbian rock, and one amberlink. Sure you don't want those?

I have 2 RIR too, but I know you don't like them. Me either, but Cris picked the chicks. That's okay, I can always sell them. Might take them to Sano this week, if I can go. I have 2 papers due Sunday that I have barely started on. Both of them are 1700+ words....can you say oops?

I have a coop full of chicks, right now - don't have so many ducks (yet).

and I just got that big pen done for the ducks

I can swap you some duck eggs, but I'm only getting 1 egg from a pekin and one from the rouen right now. The cayuga is hiding her nest, and the other pekin is old I guess, and only lays when she wants to!

I have 4 other girls out there that should be laying this summer, I'll be up to my ears in duck eggs then!

What do you guys feed your chicks? We have been using chick starter from tractor supply. Had been having good luck but all of the sudden we have been loosing babies here and there. Especially my silkie babies. I seen where it was suggested putting poly vi sol vitamins in there water. What do you guys think?

You can just give them a few drops on their beak a day of the poly vi sol. Make sure you check them, silkies especially, for pasty butt. The extra fluffy ones get it pretty easily I guess. I think all mine had it from time to time. I feed mine flock raiser, since I have baby ducks and quail too. The flock raiser has a bit more protein for the other birds, and it won't hurt the chicks. You could probably put some acv in their water, though I'm not sure how much is recommended.

I'm feeding either Flock Raiser or Purina Sunfresh chick starter. I have both bags opened

just depends on which I grab first.

Have they gotten sick on just the one bag? maybe the bag of feed was bad. I've used the TSC Dumor chick starter before without troubles.

I'm actually in Tennessee but I can practically see kentucky form here. I'm in South Fulton, TN.

I have a small flock now that i'm working on building. I have 6 hens, RIR, wydonette, buff and barred and 2 roos, RIR and barred. I have 12 - 7 week old chicks, 4 - 4 week old hcicks and more in the bator. I only want the pullets at this point. If anybody wants my roos, they are free for the taking. I have 1 RIR, 1 RIR/buff mi, 1 wydonette? and one that i'm not sure about. Hes white with green legs. Anymore I get are also free for the taking. Just PM me and let me know if you want them.

I could try to get some pics. My camera isn't that great.

Hey guys! I'm from Morgantown, in between Bowling Green and Owensboro. Got my first chickens last fall and just keep adding to the collection. Currently have 1 RIR rooster, 12 white leghorns that I'm not real pleased with, 6 OEG, 3 americaunas, 2 bantam, and 2 buff mutts. I am about to order 12 buff orp eggs. I recently purchased 13 baby ducks: peking, rouen, cambell and anconas. I'm looking for a mate for our female Emden goose and a couple silver pheonix. I'm thinking of taking most of my white leghorns to the flea market in leitchfield, just not happy with them at all. Nice to see some somewhat local people on here.

My luck just keeps getting worse!
My breaker flipped off last night to my chicks. It was on all day yesterday but cut off through the night????
I lost all of my 3 week old silkie babies I ordered, and about 25 new hatches.
If I didnt love it so much I would quit.
