Kristen’s Chickens and Farming Ventures

Kris, one of the many things on my list of must haves after a tractor is a saw mill. The one I've chosen is made in Canada. With the trees I have here and my wood shop (after the pigs are processed) there are a ton of things I could make and sell. Working full time and trying to keep the farm alive is just about all I can handle. I keep telling myself that if I can just make it to the age to draw social security I can re-direct.

I hope that your future plan's will work out for you!

They can be a great income! We have a woodmizer. When you get the tractor, make sure you get one compatible with a fork attachment, it makes loading the logs much easier. A little fore-planning goes a long way. I’m trying to figure out how I can work “working” into the farming schedule, and honestly it’s scary considering trying to balance it out!

That hat ... I love it!!

It does look a little large for a chicken, but might fit a kitty! :D And yes, totally adorable!

I was in looking for more inexpensive embroidery threads (yes for more bracelets!), craft felt to line my little tin drink can boxes, and something to make a jewelry type spinner to display them on. We had a nice discussion on using vertical space to draw interest at the market, and how we didn’t really have anything to do that with. The killer really wants a spinner, so I’ve got a dollar store lazy Susan to adapt

Thanks for the hat likes. It wasn't how I was trying to get it but I quite like it. Not sure how to secure one to a chicken's head though :hmm

I have seen people use flyscreen nailed to a frame, a bit like a tiny window, and hang earrings through the mesh. Perhaps you could do something similar with hardware cloth or larger chook wire and thread the bracelets through the holes?

Or just an upright board, or old picture frame with nails for hanging. It could be quite "rustic"
