FIL had a temper tantrum Friday about if it doesn’t get poured before he leaves for his Cuba vacation on the 23rd that he will stop the build. That was brought on by me. Andrew had literally just finished texting the concrete contractor again (as we are racing the weather) minutes before FIL burst in to yell at him about it. Apparently “he just texted him again not five minutes ago” isn’t a correct response to “you have to talk to him about the concrete”. And I should just keep my dumb female self out of this.
He’s the only contractor with concrete trucks on island, and usually needs about 2 weeks lead time for projects, as there are other customers, and he has to ferry in the materials.I’ve decided that I’m not going to let FIL’s attitude and threats bother me. Maybe if he quits “helping”, we can just pretend he’s doing the build and finish it ourselves (DH and FIL both have the same legal first and surname) I think at this point even the Building inspection office would be ok with that... we texted him initially on the 2nd of October, and then spoke in person on the 3rd about it.
Good morning Krisand
Not gonna say what I was thinking

.It's good to hear that Mr Eyebrows is improving.
Any idea what brought on the ladies' tail plucking behaviour in the first place?
How long is man-baby FIL in Cuba for? Enough time to push ahead with the build while he's gone? But I expect that would provoke another tantrum
Hopefully he will come back feeling all mellow , motivated and co-operative and suddenly want to behave like a grown-up instead of a toddler. A long shot I know, but we can only hope!
( Can you tell how annoyed I am on your behalf?I hate being yelled at...
)
Good on you for hanging in there Kris![]()
Morning Bob!And it’s a good one...
Concrete is scheduled for next Monday! So I’m going to have to put my happy face on and try to get along with FIL during the pour, because we will need every able bodied person to get it done... yay, grunt labor under an obnoxious foreman... but at this point anything to get the house up.
