I agree. I enjoy them both whenever I see them on a menu. Unfortunately, getting them to cook at home is difficult.
I have a local grower that I've gotten lamb from, it's pricey tho.
By the time they are slaughtered they are not the tiny cute little bottle babies everyone imagines. Like this one I LambySat while growers were on vaca,
std poodle 24" at shoulder communing with lamb:

Only time I ate goat was in France, it was a small and almost whole carcass on the table, beautifully roasted. There as a language barrier(long story) and at first we thought it was lamb...then translation was corrected and they all stared at us as the 'goat' info was passed. It was fine by me and I was glad for the delicious experience.... I smiled, they sighed, and we all laughed!

On my recent trip to Italy I finally had goat. I knew what I was ordering ahead of time and I can say it was amazing. I was very glad I took the chance.

could never eat lamb. They are too cute. I keep thinking of Shari Lewis and her puppet Lambchop
 You would be surprised how quickly that changes when you have to work with the vicious little things

:goodpost:

They will bite, and draw blood! I had one of those cute little bottle babies bite my finger tip (always walk through fields with balled fists) and it almost hit the bone! Neatly sliced almost halfway through, with such sharp teeth it didn’t hurt nearly as much as I would’ve expected for such a deep cut. Not to mention the head butting... they tend to aim for your knees, and are often at the ideal height for it when the thought first occurs to them.

Goat is delicious, and as they outnumber residents on the island 3:1 fair game! Many of our Indian friends are impressed by the flavor and texture of our local goats over the often “bland” varieties commercially available... they make special trips to our farm to help with the “pest control” aspect of the local feral goat population.

I will take your word for it but it really is hard to believe that they can be mean. Isn't it funny how our perceptions can be set by cuteness.
