So, Sammy has lost another GF... Hoppy is now rooming with my latest rescue in the Barn. They are getting on well, and the new girl has perked up a lot with the company. From now on I think I will rescue the farm chickens in pairs, unless there’s one in severe distress like this girl was for the first few days.
I moved the littles up into the brooder in my barn, which I’ve spent the last two days working on. It’s much more solid, still not perfect, but better by far. Still haven’t talked with the farm manager about using the space for the fall, but last year there were only about 20 bales in that side, so I’m hoping it will work out. I’m leaning towards that saying about forgiveness being easier to obtain than permission...
Hopefully I can post more pictures of the cuties now that they are in my general area. For the meantime here they are in their new digs
