I've been molting since last summer. Doctor says I should have my thyroid checked.

I'm not sure if I should laugh or send sympathies and hugs...

It shouldn't...new feathers should start growing very soon(a few days) after old ones fall out.

Yes. I think she lost all her feathers over that period of time & they were all coming in nicely ~ except for her back. I've scoured BYC & can't think what else could be going on. I don't have a vet available so I'm just doing what I can & hoping for the best. Granted it's weird ~ but hey, that's chickens for you.

Not sure ~ but no idea what it could be. I've gone through old threads but nothing seems to fit. The only thing I've found is that some molts are really long [16 months] & hard on the bird.

I have never seen or heard of that. How awful for her.
