So the Hay is all in! Over 2300 bales of it. Last night was the hardest field so far, the Hay was beautiful and heavy, and I ended up in the big hayloft stacking it away. And good timing because we had a torrential summer rain at 2:30 am that lasted until morning.
Wooo and Two Hooos!!!

Well done! And a heaps better haul than last year. I'm betting the quality is better too.

Given some of the weird things chickens eat I'm not surprised the chickens went for peri peri. They can have it! :D

Yay for aprons but it's chook jumpers [sweaters/jersys/pullovers for my American friends :) ]I'm after.

Nooooooo!!!
:lau:lau:lau I have a chook having a really, really hard molt. Lost all her body weight & most of the feathers on her back haven't grown back in. I'm doing all I can for her( extra protein, smaller warmer coop for sleeping but its winter & she's cold.) Jumpers were all I could think of to help. All suggestions welcome:DNo-one sells chook jumpers.:gig

What's the temp?
I'm guessing you're cold and she isn't really
The sweaters can interfere with feather growth,
and pin feathers are already rather 'uncomfortable'.
lol No She was shivering. I wasn't cold. Temps are under 10C @ night. Up in the mid to high teens during the day normally. She's been molting since August & has lost a lot of condition. Comb & face grey to colourless. I've been quite worried about her, especially as those feathers haven't grown back & while there is down there is little sign of pin feathers. She's been wormed. I've checked for lice & mites. Giving extra protein & keeping her as stress free as possible. She's picked up again in the last few days ~ bit of colour to her comb, feistier, eating better & socialising but with the rain it's become quite a bit warmer as well.

10C(50F) shouldn't make her shiver....something else going on?

OK I know it's winter there, but same month names-correct(?), so she's been molting for almost 11 months?
