I should add she has a full glass of fresh water (from the same tap!) for herself, she just seems to love the stuff I wash the eggs with when they are poopy.

I've never found having fresh water available makes any difference. Mine drink out of the bird baths, the chicken water, the lily ponds & dirty rainwater puddles. Maybe it's something to do with vitamins & minerals?

My chickens will drink from anything! But my cats used to be super picky... need their water in a glass, has to be clean water, and if they dip a paw in then it’s not “good” anymore... apparently they think chicken poop is extra tasty or something!

That is cool! I’ve only ever seen them at aquariums... we don’t get them up here.

She need's to be catching some stripped bass or speckled trout. At least they would make a good meal.

Are alligator gar edible? Many really ugly fish are quite tasty... what I don’t eat are large flat fish like halibut, because worms too many returns, squiggly fish, and sometimes even videos of “what I found when I unwrapped my dinner items” small fishies for me only now thanks... shudder, parasites

So I’m not 100% sure my “heritage meat rooster” is fully as advertised, but he seems fairly decent and has very large legs... pics to come soon!

I wouldn't eat any type of gar. I lived in the New Orleans area many year's ago. When the gar's are in, forget about catching any trout. The water seem's to have a sour smell to it when the gar's are in.

They are super cool. We have them ~ LARGE. And they fly. Who knew.
