Kristen’s Chickens and Farming Ventures

We candled the eggs Tuesday night and pulled 3 more clearly infertile ones from the other persons... I have three or four I’m fairly certain of mine are quitters as well, so this is probably going to be a small hatch for us. We’ll see how it goes! Eggs are due on Friday. On the house front... we are ready for our second pour once I get the ok from our engineer. Yesterday was mostly spent fighting with my internet connection and trying to email him the pictures of the work so far.

I’m also basically stranded at the trailer by brake issues. Our “good” truck with the working brakes blew a brake line Tuesday morning, so we are down to 1 semi-functional Jeep, that Andrew took in for sleeping in for work. 2019 the year of the great brake failures... at least they haven’t gone while coming down the hill! Good news is we are again allowed to take drinking water, and I even did a load of laundry, two if you count my upholstery/soon to be insulated curtains.

2019 really must be the year for brake issues. Last weekend we were driving home with all the kids and the brakes went out on Rich's truck. Thank God he was driving. Thankfully he got us all home safe. We spent all day Sunday replacing lines.

Glad it's just a data issue.;)

And the pictures all loaded little bit by little bit on people’s posts... watching the videos is basically completely out of the question... I tried to watch @BY Bob’s broody video... nope... The pictures haven’t been buggy today though so I’m wondering if it reset at midnight or if I have to suffer through another day of this... i’ll Check the data plan properly after round two of chicken chores... but I think I’m back to normal. I was also trying to comment on people’s posts and it wasn’t working  maybe the new unlimited data plan isn’t so hot after all? I’m glad I signed on for the 70 Gigs max speed... we might need to add a bit more :hmm

Getting home safe is all that matters! Can’t really complain too much as long as that happens. I’m glad Rich knows what he is doing and was able to fix them. I’ve never replace brake lines, but I’m finding there’s always a first time for everything!

I'm glad that everyone that is having brake problem's is ok. Up north there are a lot of hill's and mountain's that are hard on brake's. I hope that they are all fixed before winter is here.

X2!

You might all get a laugh out of this one... so we knew that the brake fluid was low, so I bought some and topped it up we were purging the lines, I had my mother pushing the pedal while I watched the fluid keep disappearing. I was watching the reservoir so intently and adding more fluid thinking “it’s going down it must be working!” I didn’t notice it all leaking out from near the wheel  so mechanically inclined... I was hoping to get them working so I wouldn’t need to hand bomb lumber to the burn piles from our build site :hmm so guess what my afternoon looks like today.

When it come's to vehicles and fluid's, always check for leak's if the level's don't look right.
