Yes, and the girls in Mr Marans pen tend to roost as far apart from each other as possible too. No wonder I’m not getting any dark eggs right now! The fluff is there, it’s just still stuck in the sheaths for now. Porcupine bum... I almost renamed her, but I just doesn’t have the right ring to it. I still have a ton of catchup reading over on your thread again
@BY Bob, but I have been fairly occupied with winter prep here.
Today I got the hospital tractor 3/4 of the way it needs to move to accommodate my new chicks at the end of this week. It’s now parked completely in the way of the Jeep, but I’m done for the day! We can back the car up tonight and it’ll be fine. I also did a bunch of general grounds clean-up and organizing, and I raided FIL’s “lumber piles” looking for enough regularish materials to get a tractor and a “chickshaw” a-la Justin Rhodes out of it for winter housing. That has to be a priority because the meat tractors are not ok for winter, and we are starting to get some freezing temperatures... with lows of -1 Celsius predicted for the coming week.
