Vicariously hatching through you! I will not put anything in the incubator until spring... warmer temperatures and the sunshine (power!) returns.

That's why I'm only doing a small hatch this time to see what these 2 newer NN hen's put out with my roo Roger over them. I'll be doing a bigger batch toward's in the spring.

Happy New Year everyone! 2020 will be a good one I’m hoping, for everyone. I don’t make “resolutions” per-se, but I do reflect a bit on my overall goals for the year. Where I am and where I want to go with things.

For 2020 our primary goal is going to be (insert drumroll here) getting the house up! No surprise there, but now with concrete poured it’s looking far more achievable. Other goals are working out fitting some more “paying” jobs into the Farming and farm projects. We will be getting Andrew’s sausage into the local store very soon.

As for my Chickens... I want to do a lot more meat birds this spring and summer (hence the need for some paying work, because all the costs are upfront and the pay out is completely post production). I am happy with my numbers for my Layers (40 hens/pullets) going into egg season, and will see how my heritage girls lay in their second year. I’m going to be hatching out some more layers, mostly for sale, with my attempts at the meat birds as well.

So what are everyone else’s plans for this new decade?

Kris, I don't know if it would work in your market, but a lot of folks have been successful with Pre-Ordering and getting customer's to provide a deposit which helps with cash flow.

I admire your drive and proactive approach Kris. I think we are all looking forward to seeing you guys installed in your new home (and shielded that little bit more from the in-laws )

Apart from de-cluttering, (we cleaned out my parents home mid 2018 and I still haven't had the fortitude to go through it all) I don't have much in the way of plans for 2020.

What to do with all the stuff!
I would like to downsize my house, without moving.
I told my daughter, when I go, just keep bringing in dumpsters until the house is empty.

I moved twice in the past two years and still have stuff in boxes that needs to go away. That's my primary resolution for this year - more de-cluttering.
