Kristen’s Chickens and Farming Ventures

Wow, gonna be BIG!!
2800 square feet and two stories... lots of room for books and chickens, and my mom...

Wow! Looking good!:clap

Wall frames next? Will they be prefab or do you have to build them from scratch?

Thanks! The outer walls are prefab... they are framed up and sheathed but uninsulated, we will have to stick frame the interior walls. Which isn’t a big deal for Andrew and I, but working with FIL is a PITA!

Morning Kris :frow

That's great progress, can't wait to see walls :D

Goof evening (and a day late  )Bob!:frow I can’t wait to have them up to share with everyone too!

Keep your eyes on the prize! (lock up stage where you don't need to involve FIL anymore)

Hopefully he gets the urge to visit Cuba for a couple of months between now and then .:fl:p

What's the timeline on drying in?
Shame that the current framing/flooring is all getting wet. :(
I had wondered that same thing.

I’ll follow up with some pictures of our walls at their current state... if you think a little rain on the flooring is an issue. :( We have had the house parts for two winters now, tarped when possible, but I’m starting to get concerned about the moisture as well. And then there’s the Roof we elected to not get... I think we will have to get asphalt shingles after all, we were going to do metal roofing but budget for that is pretty much gone now. I’m also hoping that we can let it dry out some more this summer before closing it in. I’m aiming for August or September so it’s fully baked dry again by our summer drought

Doesn't wet wood get warped, though?
