krstms and Potter Watch...and anyone else due to hatch around the 23rd

that's how mine were. They were mostly clear but had a dark spot in them. the one's that are developing and showing movement are filling up almost everything but the air pocket. The one's I cracked had tiny embryos that were clearly no more than 5-7 days along. From what I've read online ours that are still alive should be getting pretty big and even have feathers by now. I cant wait!!!!

So I opened them up and I too was right about them. 1 was definitely a blood ring. The others quit VERY early in development.

I still have 1 welsummer egg that I can't see into. It appears dark throughout, so I'm leaving it in just to be on the safe side. The others are filled nicely with chick. It makes it hard to see into it though.

So I still have 7 welsummer eggs in (started with 7), movement seen in all but the 1 above, and 2 out of 5 barred rocks.

The other 2 were from another seller and some were broken in that shipment, so I think they just had too much trauma. 1 of those had a very irregular air sac.

Out of the originial 14, I'm getting rid of 9--two with definite blood rings, a couple of early quitters, and the rest that just never grew. I'm not giving up, though. I'll be thrilled to get just one chick at this point.

My eggs are wiggling around in the bator. I can actually see them move.

4 of them at least. The green one I cant see anything. It may be dead. How long from movement to pips?

Nova........good luck with the rest of the eggs. Sorry you had to get rid of so many.

Krstms.......that's awesome!!! I imagine that means they are getting into position to pip. Hope all those babies get out just fine for you.

I'll take mine out of the turner tomorrow and lock them down. Can't wait! Neither can my kids!

I know how you feel nova. Out of my original 19 I'm down to 5 and I'm only seeing movement in 4 right now. I'm just hoping to get these last 4-5 to hatch.

Good luck on the rest of yours.

I ended up leaving 2 of them in, so we've got 7 left. There wasn't any odor at all, so I don't think they'll explode.

Seriously, I swear I'll be happy with just one. I'll buy him some little friends and put the incubator away (until next year, at least).

Well, they haven't even hatched yet and my kids are naming them. My youngest wants Scooby and my oldest wants Spooky and Goblin.

Can't tell they are excited, can you?
