Laree's "I CAN'T STOP MYSELF FROM HATCHING!!!" Hatch-a-long

There are a couple blue eggs in there, 2 I think. I've got another dozen to set but I'll wait until "Big Bertha' is finished. Almost there, just need to put wire on 2 more trays, drill some holes, and get 'er set up and I'll be good to go! Hopefully the bottom won't fall out of the chick market so I'm not stuck with them all!

Are you kidding me?? The bottom is not gonna fall out of the market. People are looking to more sustainable as each day passes and chickens are a no brainer.

Not around here...everyone and their brother has chickens here. Luckily most of these eggs are ducks.

You incubate them like that? how do you turn them??

I don't put water in the incubating bator so I just tilt the whole thing. This is the first time I've ever had this many in my Hovabator.

Ducks here sell well also. I find most people around here want laying hens, so we are beefing up the white leghorn and RIR pens.

Ducks sell pretty good here, especially baby ducks. I sold some 6 week old silkies today for $3 each but I could get that for a day-old duckling. People want chicks here, they just want them for nothing.

And then I have people like my dad 'helping' me...gave away a $2 file box with the sale of a $5 turkey poult

ARGHHH!!! No helping allowed!!! I get $2 for chicks of an average nature and $8 for ducklings of any breed. Other breeds of chicks, I sell more hatching eggs for them than anything.
