lavender (self blue)

yea but i do need to get rid of his wattles as he is d'uccle and not supposed to have them...yea doesnt look that bad for a hatchery bird and i can improve my self blue over the next few years, given that i can get better quilty d'uccles. i gotta pick and choose his girls wisely and also his offspring the same way.

edit: my current pullets are from a breeder who shows and i will have some more eggs coming in but they are a new color in development sorta of a calico looking color but the work on the roosters and chicks i have seen look great and i just cant wait to get the eggs and start hatching them...do you know anyone who sells self blue d'uccle eggs?

yep, that was the only thing I saw that I didnt like, he just needed a thicker beard and less wattle. Misty may have eggs, I'm sure that's who you are getting the "calico" ones from.
Ron Tallent in GA has some of the best in the country( d'uccles in general) he also have every color available and has created about every color imagenable. He should have his contact info on the d'uccle club site

and i cant wait for them.

no, from a hatchery, he's dang good. Usually they have horrid foot feathering. I figured Misty was who you were getting those from. She showed them to me a while back trying to figure out the genetics on them. Calico sounds good haha... They should make some nice typie birds for you for sure

the rooster she posted on the d'uccle thread is so handsome. do you know if they have the lavender gene in them? i might do a one time only breeding to the self blue if you think that might be a good idea.

he looked blue based to me, lavender would cover up all the black and blue colors. They way she said he was bred, it may be a split. Looked like a blue mottled crossed to a mille fleur to me. Came out pretty much blue mottled with some gold leakage from the mille...sure is pretty though

That'd be what I'd try. Breed it and see what you get. I feel like those have several things going on in them, so there's no telling what you may get. I'd try though just to see
