Leaving for Boot Camp for the USMC June 6th!**LEAVING TODAY**

Different MOS's can have bonuses depending on how critical they are needed or if they have higher needs or tougher criteria to get them. Usually for sign on bonuses they give you half after boot camp or mos school and the other half after a year of service. Try to do something useful with yours, unlike me.

So did you ever decide where you were going to try to get stationed? I am going to the beach over near Camp Lejuene this weekend and can take some pics of the area if you want. If you like the beach, they have some pretty nice ones near Lejuene, I go every weekend that its warm enough and that I can get off work. Camp Pendleton's beaches are nicer though, but the water there is colder.

Im not a huge fan of the sand but id love to see pictures anyway! I meant to talk to my recruiter about it today but I was a little off on pain meds and it slipped my mind lol. More than likely ill shoot for the east coast at first. Move out farther to the west if I decide I want a little more adventure haha. Im one of those people that unless im with friends im perfectly happy to stay at home all day. Im not a huge social butterfly but I can be when needed or if my curiosity is roused enough.

As for my bonus - It goes straight into a savings account , lol, might keep a little on hand but I dont ever need much or buy much anyway - besides feed for the animals lol. I need to save up for a car or a nice little bike to get around with haha

Thats where I messed up, I have 7 motorcycles and a Mercedes. One day I will learn. I bought most of my bikes after trips to Iraq (4 times) and I just bought the car two weeks ago.

LOL! My mom said if she ever sees me on a bike im screwed. My dad wrecked and broke his collar bone, was left out in a ditch in an old field for like 3 hours without help, almost died. But Motorcycles are easier to transport, cheaper on gas, and although not more affordable I think would be easier to own that having to cart a vehicle everywhere.

I joined the Army out of high school and never looked back...it was one of the best decisions and some of the best days of my life...had boot camp in Alabama in July and August...not so bad...I had trouble with laughing and spent some time cutting the grass with a manicure scissor...even KP was a kick...live it and love it...keep your sense of humor and your sense of purpose...get all the education you can...it will serve you well...
My son just went 22 years in the Army and is a Sgt Major...he went in at 17 with my signature and blessing and a GED...he now has a Master's Degree and is a pilot...he will be heading to Afghanistan in a month...he continues his education...stay focused...stay safe...we are proud of you and wish you the very best...

If you ever get a bike please wear gear. I am one of those idiots on sport bikes that drag their knees going around corners but I at least wear full gear (I look like a power ranger). Gear doesn't save everything, but I have low sided at over 100mph on the track and walked away, ticked but relatively unscathed. I have seen people drop their bikes on the street at 15mph and get rashed on all exposed areas. Just imagine running full speed and and jumping then sliding down the asphalt. Now imagine it at road speeds. Get the best gear you can afford, your skin is worth it (especially after seeing your pics

). Ok, 31 year old trying to sound like a responsible adult is over...

You should totally get a bike, they rock. Check out Ducati's, MV Agusta's or Aprilia's. You cant go wrong with any of those.

Im actually covered in scars - literally. Ive been called to the counselors office before because of all the marks i have on my legs and arms. Most are from my critters but others are just from being a very active teenager lol.

I looked into the army at first, but after going to the USMC recruiting office I just couldnt change my mind lol, I was hooked lol and there was no getting off.

Im going to look into the bikes i think, and ive been told that there are safety classes to take while in the Marine corps if wanted - might be required but im not sure. Im more of a jeep wrangler or truck kind of girl, im just not sure how easy they would be to transport them all over the place.
