Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Another baby hatched last night. A chicken hatched this one.

Good to know! The first chicken egg has externally pipped and it looks like there are a couple more trying right now. My friend is so excited to have babies from her hens and I do not want to disappoint her!

To anyone who has hatched chicken eggs before..... how long after you hear chirping from the egg (no external pip that I can see) does it take to hatch?

I had one internally pip one morning and like two hours later it was in the bator moving about!!! THAT was a shocker! Most usually take longer though..I like to give 24 hrs for each step...ie..internal to external and then external to zip

Can't figure out the multi quote thing...

River...Thanks for noticing that...I go from beating myself up for letting go of one that I really wanted to keep...to telling myself I did the right thing for the little grey baby and that's what's most important. Uggh...I almost hate to sell ANY! I love them so much and they are all so easy to get attached to! Especially with so few being hatched this season..that makes it especially difficult. Oh...I'm still on the lookout for some good quality Dewlap Toulouse to add to my group!

Iain...Thanks for the kind words and you're right! I am blessed to have this baby girl at least! You really need to stop giving all of your girls to River!

Surely to goodness you'll hatch at least ONE baby girl before it's all said and done!

For me it has always been under 24 hours, or they didn't make it.
Thats always been my case, usually 12 hours for me

What kind of chickens again? Chickens are easy to hatch compared to geese!

Some meaning how many & what sex & color? I might have some available... MIGHT ! These are what I have now nicknamed my GOLEM GOSLINGS ! My Precious.....

It is hard because I have not hatched any other breeds this season (besides auction eggs & my own eggs)
I have solely focused on Dewies ~ And want to have some beautiful pairs for the future! And after my mishap with my African getting caught in the chicken wire, it just goes to show how quickly something can happen, or a predator.....

No matter how much you plan & protect, you just never know. I would hate to just keep a couple pairs, and possibly loose one, then I would be out another whole year.
