Really? When ever I fill their pools up, all the geese try and get into them..at the same time. Silly babies...Actually my geese prefer the kiddy pool for mating, yesterday when I emptied the stock tank I gave them the small kiddy pool to bath in and after 2 days of not mating in the stock tank they went into the kiddy pool and mated. Don't ask me why they like the kiddy pool better.I am seriously thinking of not even using the stock tank and just getting the largest kiddy pool I can find.![]()
OH NO! I'm so sorry to hear about your eggs..but glad you have somemore you can set. I took 7 infertile goose eggs out of the 'bator last night..sad! I have three++ that are for sure fertile, but the rest haven't been in the 'bator long enough to determine if they are fertile or not.I'm tickled to see this thread take off like wildfire. It is so much fun to share the ups and downs of hatching with fellow hatchaholics!![]()
I have sad and happy news.... Sadly, I forgot about the tricks I had to do last year to keep my cheapo styro bator stable and had some temperature fluctuations resulting in 2 of my 3 eggs quitting. I am debating on tossing the 3rd egg, but it has such a pretty spider that it seems like a waste. On the other hand, the last thing I need is a solo gosling unless I knew that one of my dewlap pairs would be willing to adopt it. In brighter news, I fixed my bator kinks and set 7 more eggs yesterday, so hope to see lots of spiders next week.
I'll be setting 6 more goose eggs today..they are setting on my computer desk.
