Let's have a gosling hatchalong!

Congrats on being done now. I believe I am to my end as well. Have one goose on a nest and do not believe anything is going to hatch. I believe I too am done incubating egg for sure.

Now I am taking care of 9 goslings in the house because it has been too cold here again at nights to put them out in a pen. So I have sooooo much mess to clean out the containers they are in. LOTS of Poopies.

What a mess they are making!!! I can not keep them clean no matter how many times I clean them during the day.

Here are my Embdens (and my gray halfrican embden) that were hatched on March 27. Hard to believe they are already nearly 2 months old!

Here they are with their flock of khakis (roughly the same age) and my four feed store hatchery cayugas.

The gray girl is definitely the flock boss!

Beautiful!!

MY GOODNESS YOU FOLKS KEEP ME BUSY! I'm gone for a few days and come back to like ten pages to read through!!! It fills me with joy to see so many successful hatches going on for all of you! Although my goosies are done for the year and I've only one, now quite large, baby girl to show for it, I have the following due to hatch:

5 Buff/Gold Laced Brahma chicks
4 Buff Call Ducks
1 Partridge and 1 Gold Laced Cochin (shipped eggs...ugggh)
3 Peach Pheasants
5 Buff Call Ducks
10 Blue Partridge Brahma (shipped eggs...yay!)

and tomorrow I'm adding...drum roll please....SEVEN Buff Dewlap eggs from Alison Grell's birds! The air cells were a little wonky but I'm SOOOO hoping I get at least one baby to hatch out of these! I have a question about these...I've got two broody cochin hens out here...do any of you think I should put one egg under each of them and then do the other five myself...think it will increase my odds any?

I also got my lavender and lavender columbian brahma chicks shipped in last week! They're adorable and I can't wait to see how pretty they'll be full grown!

Sorry, couldn't help meeself.

River...aka JAZZ...can you PLEASE tell me what a "Fritter" egg is? I'm so confused by your terminology...I need some sort of code breaker I think! LOL

UTAH!!! THOSE BABIES ARE STUNNING AND HUGE! I'm SOOOO glad they made the trip okay! I bet their new owner is tickled to pieces!

Thanks! I am very happy with how quickly my boys are all developing! Congrats on the eggs and best of luck. I've noticed the fertility and/or development of my most recent set of eggs has dropped off considerably as my geese are settling in to molt. After sending my last goose egg shipment of the year to Jasmine, I set 8 eggs today. I will be surprised if any make it to hatch though. I think my girls are almost done laying (finally!). The ganders look done, too.

Almost started a new thread to ask this but then i thought why not ask here since baby pics get plastered here....

Does anyone have a pic of a baby grey dilute African or a buff african(forgive me if im wrong i thought i had seen lighter africans) has any of you hatched any? I have a chinese gosling that hatched, father is brown mother is white. Shouldnt be much different than crossing a white african with a regular african. Hes not the only one of his kind that hatched but he is lighter than his siblings.

I have a gosling from a white African goose that is lighter. Not sure if gander is brown or a brown/white cross, though. I will take pics this afternoon to show.

Number 12 hatched durring the night. I am officially done incubating for the season! I need a break lol its up to the geese now. All thats left is to clean the bators and box them up.

Whew! Congrats on a fantastic hatching season!

RURU i have 15 goslings altogether now. 3 month olds in the outside brooder and these 12 new babies. I have spent 2 months turning eggs i need a break now whew! Same here with the poopies its a never ending cycle of feed change wash repeat. Its worth it though atleast goslings let you know what they appreciate, mine peep before they eat anything or drink anything i like to think they are thanking me. Then there is the 11 duckies and they are just as messy but seem to "complain" lol

Lain id love to see a pic thanks! Mine might just be a normal gosling but he is lighter almost looks silver in good lighting. None of his siblings are silver in the same lighting though. I will try to take them all outside for pics as soon as they can go. Maybe catch his color on camera. I know the first one is a pied, ive never seen a pure brown chinese gosling with white wings and chest. Hes for sure pure chinese just one parent was white and one brown. His egg was marked as "big white chinese goose" when i collected for the incubator yet he isnt yellow all over hes brown and white. So his father was Bill my brown china gander and his mom is the big white china goose.

. You sent me 4 more trio eggs. I would like 2 more boys & I would be a very happy hatcher! Out of my fatties I would like 3 boys & 4-5 girls. So even if I do not hatch anything more I still am

Here are all 12 of my babies boxed up and ready to move from their "grandmas" house to my house.

Here is what we found today, not geese though. 4 of my chickens decided to hide a nest in the trunk base of our halzelnut tree. Hidden well because this tree is within 2 ft of the main gate to the barn.

Barb, I am SO glad I have a variety of out door brooders, most are chicken tractor style that I can plug in if they need heat and I have a play yard for goslings that I put up every night.

We gave the Mother's Day 6 pack to the flock, they are 2 weeks old tomorrow. We also moved the mixed ducklings into a "big bird" night pen. All our babies are now outside and only one batch has a light at night.

OHHH Utah...that's right! My last few eggs were infertile too...stupid me probably spent all that money on infertile EGGS! UGGGH...I hope one hatches at least. I did put one under my broody hen...lol..she's gonna have a "bumpier" time of it now! My geese are going into molt too..within two hours of being out today there were feathers everywhere!

I understand the itch to hatch more babies.... especially from Allison's girls! Best of luck!

Having anxiety attacks. Someone wants to come buy one of my first 3 babies tomorrow. I put them up for sale after they attacked Daisy and killed her, but i still dont want to let them go. They havent attacked anything since. I dont see dollar signs when i look at my animals. Maybe if i was one of those people it might be easier. Its like putting a baby up for adoption.
