Sorry it took so long but FINALLY!!!!!!

Here they are. Our new brood and quite the color collection. We are vary happy new parents.

These are out 2 favorites in color and personality.

Nice! I was wondering how tall to make the breeder pen, don't want them bonking out what minute brains they might have. As far as finishing pens for good, I always need more. I even need to build another goat shelter. Hoping to build at least four coops before the weather turns cold.

The individual pens are 12 inches from bottom to top. When I first place the bobs in there new home, when I turned my back I could hear the thumping if them hitting the top...and I was thinking OH NO...I won't have any bobs in the morning ...but they were all just fine and I have not lost one to boinking its head.
I am sure they are others that will chime in on the sizes of their pens.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind . I am surprised at how calm my Coturnix are. I had button quail years ago , and they were very flighty. These guy just sit there when I open the door, I could grab them if I wanted to . When they were newly hatched, I had them in a fish tank in the garage so they saw a lot of me coming and going plus loud noises with sawing, hammering etc. So they are pretty calm

Up-date ~ Incubator temp 99.5 Humidity 62%(it is on the rise)...I dry hatch all my eggs and I have not put any water in the GQF sportsman since I put the (bob)eggs in on the 26th...ever since tropical storm Lee came though my humidity has been rising couple of day ago, humidity was around 55...just keeps going up and Lee is long gone...whats up with that ? I have even opened the door a couple of times, leaving it open for a minute or two, but after I close the door the humidity goes right back up.....HHmmmmmm I did check to see that my vents are open,and they were.
I have not had this happen all this year. Tomorrow I am going to check battery in the Temp\\Hygrometer to make sure it is still doing its job. Other than that IDK.

yeah coturnix should carry a warning label! our first hatch had my family frantic, someone went to check on the chicks and they were all on their sides (with a couple on their back) and she thought they all died!

Hello, all.
New to quail, I have been researching them for quite awhile when I found this forum. With the information I was able to get from the experience here I resided to go ahead and get them.
I built a incubator over the weekend with my 7yr old son. We went today a picked up 72 Coturnix eggs.
