I recommend goats. I have a friend with goats and they are great. I want goats.

Goats and sheep are already in the plans. I like horses, but I won't ride them, so there's really no reason for me to get such a large animal.

Oh, I want goats, too. And/or sheep. If I get sheep instead, they'll be the fleeceless kind (Katahdin) as I don't want to have to sheer them.

I have two hair sheep breeds planned for my property, mainly for meat lambs (they're larger than most of the wool breeds I want) to eat and sell

You can harvest Katahdin fibers just fine. The sheep isn't crippled by overgrowth of wool though, and I don't have to pay someone to come over and sheer it.

I'm all about animals that don't need 'extra' care.

He was a beauty, wasn't he?! Yes, he would come running when I called his name, he recognized the sound of my car, he would start kicking in his stall if he heard me talking outside and I didn't get to him in a timely manner. He was the love of my life!
