Are we thinking 2 pea combs or 1 pea and 1 single?View attachment 3549004View attachment 3549007
Should be pea. Modified cannot breed true in any breedNow I'm wondering, do brahmas have pea combs or modified peas?
I'm thinking it's likely a modified as well, since I only have pea males in this pen, but the base is just so thin compared to how they usually present.

Good question! I don't know much about chicken genetics but perhaps it's a different gene?My thoughts exactly. For both. Although it does beg the question (about the second) why do the birds still have wattles

Yes. Like I said, I'm not sure how the genes work, if the one for the comb is connected to the wattles and in which way.My brain isn't registering this information. Different gene than what? The pea comb?
Pea doesn't mean no wattles at all. My Cornish boys get them. It's the beard that also helps cut down on wattlesMy thoughts exactly. For both. Although it does beg the question (about the second) why do the birds still have wattles
