I tried, believe me! She has the knack of disappearing *just* when I turn around for a second! If I watch her, she stays out.

A blue barred BYM.

If I find her secret nesting spot, I'm grabbing her and the eggs and putting them somewhere SAFE!!! And then sneaking in any babies that hatch from her flock-mate.

I don't know why we feel such pride in these babies, especially since we didn't actually lay or set on the eggs. But somehow we grow a bond there, we are proud parents!

I've hatched so many Quail and after my first couple hatches I quit taking photos and of course this was all before smart phones and their cameras. But these two turned into these as adults...

Good plan. And she sounds pretty. I've currently got a Tsouloufati hen laying out in the property, and usually I'd be ECSTATIC, but with the fox being around I worry a little

Actually, barred is one of my least favourite colours! I don't find her attractive at all, but she's friendly, so...

Have you found the Tsouloufati's eggs? Or does she have a hidden nest, too?

@Canadian Wind , I know a muscovy male over Mallard females will make sterile offspring. Will those daughters still lay eggs though?

What age can you determine if a Muscovy is a female or male?

Mine are about 10 weeks and I can tell which are definitely boys. Just hoping I don't have late blooming males
