Lice!

A week ago a found a bug in my hair! I looked it up and it was a louse. I never saw another one on me but i treated myself anyways. Today while cleaning the coop I found 2 more on my hand so obviously they are bird lice. How can I get rid of these pests?

Bird lice are feather lice and canot survive very long on humans. I've not had a pest problem with my chickens yet... but I belive I would use sevin dust, and compleatly clean out the coop and nesting boxes. Also use the sevin dust in the coop as well.

Some of my chickens got lice once. I got some "Poultry and Garden Dust" at Tractor Supply and that took care of the bugs very well.

Once you dust your chickens and inside their house, you have to repeat again in 10 days to kill nits hatched from eggs, ending their lifecycle.
