Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Persepolis bent down, tightening the laces on her army boots to ensure that they would stay on her feet. She stayed crouched, surveying the valley around her. She was beginning her training. This session would be about evading a pursuer at close range. It would require quick thinking, fast reflexes, and active senses. Persepolis closed her eyes and took several deep breaths, fine-tuning her focus. With her eyes still closed, Persepolis imagined the sound of running footsteps behind her and shouts for her to surrender. Her eyes snapped open and she looked over her shoulder. In her mind, she saw a man larger than her coming at her. He was clearly angry and intent on catching on her.
The chase was on.

In a split second Persepolis was off, pushing off the ground with her right foot. From what she had seen of her opponent, he didn't seem like he wanted to deal with many challenges. Using this information, Persepolis ran head-on towards a large boulder, taller than she was. At the last second, Persepolis jumped, grabbing onto the top of the boulder with her fingers. She hauled herself up quickly, looking back at her pursuer. He was attempting to make his way onto the boulder after her. He was slower, but he was almost there. Persepolis wasn't waiting for him. She pressed her wings against her body, pretending she didn't have any to use. Next, she slid off the boulder and made a beeline for one of the rock walls, doing a few rolls and flips to make herself a harder target to aim at. She could hear the man grunt as he jumped off the boulder they had just been on. Footsteps behind her told her he was catching up. Persepolis started doing a wall run 6 feet up the wall, buying time to decide what she was going to do next.

Xylo held her tightly, his hands moving to her sides as they held each other. Once again, all his worry faded, as if it were extinct. He knew it would return, but for now he wanted to lose himself in his love for River. River was all he had left, and he couldn't let her fade away from his life like Horius had.
River became lost in his dark brown eyes. She laid her head against his chest and listened to his heartbeat, it comforted her, and she knew the one she loved the most was near whenever she heard it.

"If you wanted me dead, why haven't you killed me yet? You had so many chances of killing me, so why didn't you do it? Scared?" Alec taunted. He tried to buy himself some time, even if it was just a few seconds, to think of a plan to get away alive. He didn't want to kill them unless he had to.
Stephen pointed and arrow at Alec's heart, preparing to release it.
Horius chuckled softly at the boy's stupid taunts, before shooting another bullet in his other leg. He whispered softly in an ice cold tone "Watch your mouth. The more you speak, the more you cry out in pain." He then turned to Stephen, before muttering "Who's killing him? You or me?"

Xylo held her tightly, combing her hair as she listened to his comforting heartbeat. He kissed her hair softly, before whispering softly "I love you my angel. I would kill for you." His words were soft and loving, but nothing but truth radiated from his words. She was his only family left, and he would protect her with his life.

Black dots swam through Alec's vision. He closed his eyes, mumbling "you guys are sick. I hope the other hunters succeed in killing you."
Stephen flinched when Horius shot him again. "Umm..." Stephen said, looking between them.

(So how should Alec survive?) Horius kept looking at Stephen, slightly frustrated by his indecisiveness. He asked calmly “You or I?” He added simply “I can do it if you want, just choose.” Horius personally hopes Stephen would do it. Start off his killing career.

Xylo explained softly, “You are the only thing I have left.” He spread his wings and enclosed the pair in them, providing shelter from the attacks of the outside world that might try to disturb their love. He breathed out softly, before whispering “Thank you for trusting me. I will never betray that trust.”

Persepolis had an idea. She jumped off the wall, performing a safety roll as she landed. She knew that this human man who was chasing her couldn't possibly move as fast as she could. She could tell that he wasn't expecting her to put up much fight and he clearly didn't want to expend a lot of energy, he was only making half-hearted attempts to follow her over obstacles. Persepolis saw a tree 7 yards from her. It was close to one side of the valley with a relatively small branch extending towards the edge of the rock wall. The branch could likely hold her weight, but the jump was about 100 feet. No way her pursuer was going to make it.
Persepolis took off, jumping from boulder to boulder in her path and pulling herself up the rocks quickly. Her pursuer was slowing. Not much, but a little. Persepolis reached the tree and jumped, grabbing the lowest branch -7 feet off the ground- and swinging herself over it. She stood quickly and started rapidly climbing the tree. The man had reached the tree now and was starting to pull himself into it. He was climbing after her. Persepolis reached a branch of the tree that forked out to her target branch. It was like walking on the plank, 50ft above ground. She stuck her arms out the side, walking along the branch at a hurried pace. She had to be careful. One slip and she could fall. Persepolis reached the end of the branch. She bent her knees and started swinging her arms back and forth to gain momentum. The man was almost at her level now, she had to move. In a moment, Persepolis swung her arms forward again, taking the leap. She was moving, quickly closing in on the edge of the wall. She stuck her hands out, catching the ledge with her fingers. With a heave, she used her feet to push off the wall while she hauled herself over. She rolled onto her side, staring at the place where she had left the man. The image of the man who had been chasing her dissolved, leaving nothing in its place except for what nature had provided.
Persepolis breathed a sigh of relief. She was victorious. Her first round of training had been successful. She got up, brushing the dirt off her clothes. Unfolding her wings, Persepolis glided back down into the valley. She wasn't done training yet.
