Life threatening event and now yellow urates

While still alive, Charlotte has been non-responsive since late afternoon. I covered her with a warm towel from the dryer. I know she'll likely be gone by morning. At least she isn't suffering.
I researched some services at UNH - I'll call them in the morning and bring her for a necropsy, which they do for $35. I have done one once before, but I don't want to miss anything.
I'm feeling pretty gutted.

I’m so sorry. I hope Charlotte passes peacefully & quickly. This is the part of chicken keeping that really sucks. I hope a necropsy brings answers for all of us to learn. Peace be with you all

You have all been amazing and I am truly grateful for your support. I will share what I find out and hopefully we will get some answers. :)

I have read through this from beginning to end. My hat is off to you for the care and attention you gave to your dear hen. I think she knows she is well loved. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that- especially in a world where many people think, "it's only a chicken."

You’ve done an amazing job taking care of her. Please share if you find anything out from the necropsy.
Thanks you very much. She is breathing, but just barely. I've been sitting with her as she is clutching my finger.
I will definitely document everything I hear

Is there a way to print this thread?

Nevermind, I've cut and pasted the details into Excel.

I called the Veterinary Center at UNH. They were very nice. They will do a necropsy and based on my details they said they need to also do a fecal float. Charlotte is still alive right now - they offered to euthanize. They put the chicken is some sort of can and use gas. I'm trying to wait instead.
So $35 for the necropsy and $10 for the fecal float.
