Light in duck house...

Doing well, I integrated Him in with the others.. he seems to stay away from them for the most part and tries to not go in the house at night, wants back into his juvenile home. Believe he is a male since he is about the size of all my other ducks. No caruncles yet, but i do see an outer red showing up around his bill. On a side note, on my way home i seen a lake and happened to notice muscovies there the other day, stopped by today and seen what i believe 3 females, seen one swimming in the water further out. possibly a male. Not sure if they were dropped off or not.

Most likely were. happens more than we know. Will they come close to you? if friendly probably belonged to someone. :(

I'd love to see a pic of yours it's been a while.

I have seen them for a week now, originally only thought one till i drove into the parking lot and seen the three females. I have not tried to see if they will come close to me or not. The lake is some what big and has a neighborhood on one side. I however did not see them when i drove by this morning. I plan to keep an eye out on them just in case. And you must be psychic I just took some new pictures of Lucky that I planned on posting.

Lucky is adorable I love all the phases they go through.

Would you consider bring home the scovy's if you could catch them?
Im not sure... im in a residential area, but no HOA so im allowed to have my animals.. Just dont want to over run the backyard with ducks and annoy the neighbors.. Plus will admit trying to wrangle just the 5 of them if I need to put them in early is a hassle. Plus with them being flight birds.. I noticed what I think is the male that was on the water flew after.. No idea how to deal with that and dont think the neighbors will aprpeciate that.

Downfall in Florida they are considered a nuisance waterfowl and invasive, believe i read that people can shoot them if they do go on their property.
No. From FWC Specifically for Muscovy - If the ducks are yours or have no identifiable owner and are on your property, Federal regulations allow control by landowners, wildlife management agencies, and tenants, agents, or employees without federal or state permits. Birds may be humanely euthanized, but it is illegal to capture the birds and release them elsewhere.

I clip my female scovy's wings each year after molt to keep them grounded. My drake I don't he would never leave them.

I don't think that means it's illegal to capture and bring them home just not legal to release them to another area of water. I maybe wrong though. Such a shame they are wonderful ducks.

yes not illegal to capture them, just illegal to release. But if someone finds them on their property, they can kill them. Which is the shame. The other problem is for me to capture them i would have to trespass on the business property which there is a sign there about. When i drove into it i did a turn around in a parking spot to make it seem like I needed to turn around on the road.

So there is a business where the ducks are on the lake? I guess that would mean you'd have to get permission from the property/business owner before rescuing the ducks.

yeah probably, the lake has some businesses around, easiest point to where i keep seeing the ducks, the rest is surrounded by apartment complex on one end, and houses on the opposite side of the lake.
