Light in duck house...

Okay sorry for being an enabler I just feel for them not having a home and someone possibly being cruel to them. When I was looking up Muscovy sanctuary a while back for a member I was sick to see all the abuse Muscovy's suffer at the hands of humans.
That is how I got started in ducks we befriended 3 Muscovy drakes on our river below our home.

It is how i ended up with Lucky.. Dont like the idea of them getting killed or hurt like that either. Will admit I am not the biggest Muscovy fan, I find the Caruncles to be ugly. However Lucky is the only duck we have right now who will follow me around, come to me and eat out of my hand.. So he might turn me lol.

Also no worries about being an enabler.. was thinking or redesigning the duck house down the road for more room etc... problem will be funds, want to make the house longer and taller so i have room to walk in instead of bending down.. then on the side the older small house with fencing /hard wire mesh, all around for any juveniles we decide to raise from hatch. This probably wont even be started until late spring to summer.

They are sweet. Of course the drakes go through the puberty stage and become a handful if you don't get it under control quick but once you do they make great pets.

@Miss Lydia - I stopped by to check on the muscovy ducks i seen. This time no females.. a few of buzzards/vultures around and the muscovy Drake. Got semi close to him, from what i could tell he only has one leg. On the lake I seen mallard type ducks but did not match wild mallard coloring. Came back home to grab my binoculars to see them better.. Not sure what i can do though if they are not wild. One of the birds in the flock on the water was all white, which to me is a Pekin. If it is then someone either has ducks that lives around the lake, or people have dumped them.

Went back out there with binoculars.. There are alot of smaller types of mallards out there, atleast 6. There is one smaller all white duck and then all i seen was the muscovy drake, who did not move from his spot.. I gave him some flock food see if he would come closer to me, he ate some but didnt move. When i first approached him he stood up and i could see he only has one leg.

He is gorgeous. Maybe a snapping turtle? Females maybe flying? Yep only problem I see with him being out there is predation he def can walk fast and most likely can't fly so he is virtually a sitting duck
I see at least the white one isn't wild did you see it fly? Or a white Mallard not sure if they actually have white Mallards in the wild though.

I thought i seen him fly the other day when i seen the females. Unless it was not him. I did not see the white one fly either, just leading the other mallards swimming in the water.
