Like in previous post I am again having problems sexing Sussex chickens, I recently hatched 7 out of 10 eggs. These chicks are now 4-5 weeks old and are a cross between Light Sussex and a ISA Brown and Black hen. I do not know specifically who the mother is of which chick as they all look pretty similar. But I do know who the fat ass father is, see his and his hens picture below. I had problems sexing him, as stated in previous posts, until he started crowing. At the start I had hoped for at least 3 hens out of this hatch, but as I am now seeing the comb and wattle redness, I am starting to think there is only one pullet left. Please advise, as I am at a loss, it seems that I may have another few fat ass cockerels on my hands. Has anyone had experience with Light Sussex chicks in the past? Any feedback would be kindly appreciated.
Please ignore the Lavender Sussex Rooster.
Chick 1 - This is the only chick I still believe to be 100% pullet though this may change.
Chick 2 - Could be pullet, only 60% sure.
Chick 3
Chick 4 - Used to think it was pullet, comb has grown considerably larger but still pale. Also was one of the quickest to feather in.
Chick 5
Not sure about chick 6 & 7 as they look pretty similar. Please see further pictures below
