Limping Hen NEED ADVICE

So my hen has been limping for the past few days, at first it was a slight limp, but now its more noticeable. The place where she sleeps/perches at night is kind of like a fence. She has to jump quite a bit and I'm afraid that it will worsen her condition. My mum who is the main care giver is overseas and my dad isn't too hot about animals, so I can't take her to the vet.
What should I do???????????????????????????????????

First look for any noticeable black scab on the bottom of the footpad. Then look for any swelling or redness on the legs or joints. It might be best to place her in a pen or cage with food and water for a week or two to rest the leg. Sprains can be common from high roosts or jumping.
