Little Giant 9200 Still Air Incubator - humidity

Mine are just laying on their side. That's how I've read to do it.

I'm going to try the egg carton trick.

Let me know how it goes. With the problems I'm having with temp spikes I'm worried that with the eggs so close to the heating element I wont have the wiggle room I have now when the temp goes up.

Candled the eggs today and marked the air cell. Out of eight eggs saw movement in all but two, and of those two we think we did in one. Since we are not 100% sure on those two we are going with:
6 - progressing
1 - ?
1 - ? but most likely an early quitter

Today's day 11 for me. I'm so tempted to candle. Should I? Thus will be the 4th time? Or 5th. One of those lol. Its been 3 days since I did last.

Well I already did. Lol. They're all alive and getting so big! We added a Bantam Barred Rock egg in there yesterday so I'll candle on day 5 with that one to see if we've got another baby!I'm sooooo excited! Only one week until lockdown!

How do staggered hatches work? Do you have more than one bator? I have eggs sitting in a cartoon fatty end up just in case these guys don't make it to lockdown.

I really think a large part of my problem is I don't have enough eggs in there to help keep the temp steady. I added one glass jar and am going to raid the fridge for more.

Good thing I have a Tupperware addiction lol

I put it in the same incubator as the others. I have a chart for my first eggs to mark x or o when we turn them and we put check marks starting on Day 1 next to the x's and o's for the BR egg. We only incubated it to see if it was fertilized without cracking it because we sold the BR's that laid this egg and it's our only one. So we don't want to take any chances of cracking it.

I only have 4 eggs in my bator and my temp is staying pretty stable.

When they go to lockdown what is the humidity suppose to be at? I think I read between 60% - 65% and how are you all doing that? I was thinking of putting a sponge under the vent holes so I can use a straw to add water if needed to it without opening the lid.

Well if the humidity doesn't matter until day 18 like someone said on here, my first batch will be hatching when the other egg is on day 11.

If they are in the same bator how will you do that? Day 11 egg will still need to be turned while the others are in lockdown?

asking because I have some eggs sitting on my counter I'd love to throw in with my current day 8 eggs.
