Little Lou

That’s great. It keeps you young. We are just building the barn. Well it’s almost done. We have to get the water tank inside build the grain room. Then dig the line for electric. And small stuff. But we have a huge S shaped pond for our last name for the ducks. They love it

Love to see! Sounds awesome..
That’s Stubs. Our one legged Goose. We just lost him due to complications

Well you sound like you enjoy it all. My duck passion started in 2004 we moved out in the country in 1995 from a half acre property in Asheville NC but after 18 yrs our kids on their own I was wanting really bad to get out. I don’t know how I made it from 1995 till 2004 when I met the 2 Muscovy drakes in the river down below us it was love at first sight. lol. We did have animals when we lived outside of Asheville we had dogs cats and 2 goats but it was these ducks that really had me in love with waterfowl. One of the drakes went missing so I brought the other one home and went an got him 3 females. Then of course they had duckling an the rest is history I kept some sold a few. Most have died from old age. My oldest now is 12 she has arthritis but other than that is very healthy I have her son Opie who her sister hatched. And he had 3 females one of those died of egg complications so Opie Joy an Hope are 8.5 yrs old next is Dolly she is Hopes DD she is 7.5 yrs old. Next are my Runners an Buffs they are 3.5 yrs and I have their off spring who will be 4 months on the 18th plus 2 Fawn an White Females I ordered from Cackle. That’s my ducks. My geese are Sam Embden Nd Missy my Toulouse Sam was actually hatched by one of my original Muscovy females he’s 12 and Missy I got at 4 months she is 7. Then we added chickens in 2009 when a hen an roo were dumped out where my husband worked and him and the staff rounded the hen an chicks up the day they hatched an we brought them home. I still have one of those chicks he is 10 this past August. So that’s my poultry. That is so sweet you take in rescues they are the ones that need the special TLC and sounds like they get it with y’all. We have 10.5 acres but it’s on the side of the mountain my husband calls billy goat land so I only have a little over a half acre for my flock if I could afford it I’d have it all fenced so I could have goats again. But we’re retired and having what I have now keeps me busy and happy so I’ll just be happy an blessed I have what I do. That’s so awesome the surgery you had healed your disability. Yes God is good.
Wow...you have amazingly older ducks and chickens..you obviously give them great care! I can only hope that ours can be so healthy..a few we got came hurt..Daisy..she usually stays in her own pen because she can’t get around at all and I have to carry her in and out of the pond..but the last few days she’s she’s had a spark and hobbled to the big pen so I put her in. She loves it..in fact she made it out to the house today..and it’s at least 100 yards...I was so happy for her. I have always had a thing for the underdog. But most of my dducks I get get at the local feed store and they call me when they are in..or they might order something this spring I might like to try. It’s nice to live in a small community where people know each other. I guess you could say we’re retired..my husband owns 35 apartments..so he only has to do things when issues come up...we have 35 acres here..mostly hayfields...in fact. In the summer the ducks would get lost in the hay, so Chris would mow ton of pathways for them. And at night we’d go. On the golf cart looking for them.lol. They are a hoot! We love the goats...we are hoping at least one is pregnant, that’s why we bought the billy goat.❤️ We put the duckLings...we got them ...Sept17 and September 26 the were a week apart but blended fine..tonight we finally put them in the big pen with the ducks. It went pretty well..took about 8 tries to get them in...they are used to go into another pen near it..bit went good! I he ken on them and they were. All settled in for the night

ido have an unrelated question about Muscovy...My Guy..I never Before..tonight, I saw some white, like discharge by the front of his eyes...I have read ow ducks need to cln their eyes and all that...but I gave also read that eye discharge can be a sign of illness..no I need to go separate him...is he sick...is was too dark for pictures

I just read how to treat it with the drops and grease water..I’ll get it in the morning ❤️

Usually white discharge is from not cleaning their eyes like dunking their heads. It’s called foamy eye. Hopefully thats all it is. Put some ACV into their drinking buckets. 1 Tab to each gallon. Have you ever given Daisy b complex?

I did not mean grease...I meant clean water...tired typing...sorry....I’ll get the drops and make they all get tap water. We usually give them pond water since that’s what they drink all day...but until he’s fixed up, it’s going to be tap only!❤️ I gave Daisy the Bcompplex the day I gave it to Lou..and some kitten food...maybe they made a difference that fast?! Wow! That’s awesome!

Did you get my reply...i meant. Lean water..it was just my tired typing and not paying attention to the auto fill.sorry.,,I’ll get it from the feed store and buckets of house water for them all tomorrow. Thanks once again
