Live chick in trouble - graphic pics - help!

I would see if you can keep him from moving so much. If he kicks too much he could tear those blood vessels and bleed to death. Perhaps wrap him snug in a damp cloth. He may have just been slightly slower developing because of temp variations or whatever and just wasn't "due" yet. I think it is possible for him to absorb the yolk and be alright but then I am painfully optimistic in most cases. As long as he is alive in there I would wait it out. Good luck with the little guy.

im here to wish you good luck to i know it is hard to decide to intervene or not i did on my first time incubating was this your first?

I just about cried when I read your post... I feel so bad, so it is nice to know that I am not the only one who has been in this boat. Yes, this was my first time. The first chick made it with no problems.

Good luck hun.

Sometimes the hardest and most traumatic thing for us to have to do is , wait. Humans by our very nature tend to rush around thinking faster is better. Some times we have to slow down. Good luck with youre chick , give him time to absorb his yolk.

I am praying that he can still absorb it without the hard shell... all he has is the inner membrane. Not sure how the absorption process works, but hopefully he just needs to absorb the yolk through the umbilical cord, and can do so despite being encased only in the inner membrane.
