Local News Story Battery Hens

I can only see one way that cage birds can be obliterated. The goverment puts a limit on the price of eggs so that big companies cant cut throat and make less and also do less for the chickens. Also here is the site of the new cage systems (mod tell me if i can post it) They are alot better than what you were watching.

That's why i'm trying to say away from eggs intel my chicks start laying. which should be early Augest

Settin'_Pretty :

You blame it on the consumer, when it's the government that always takes the biggest slice of the pie.
Of course consumers want cheap food, they're being raped by everything else in their lives.

I thank you for making a clear point. But, this is hyperbole isn't it? Taxation is a very small component of my product costs. This cost gets placed on the consumer. So it's not like with every incrimental step of B&O tax I lose more and more money.

Apart from farming, my career has been in public works, including public financing. Very few people in the Country will admit or accept their true cost to society. I entirely agree that business has been forced to subsidized the citizenry of the Country. If I were to run a calculation of what I cost my local, county, state and fedeal government... it would be a giant sigh of relief I would see my tax bill... becuase none of us are paying for what we cost others.

AMEN! The attitude of entitlement is what costs so much. We as taxpayers not only subidize those on welfare, here illegally, schools and other programs, but we also, if we care about our surrounding, pay more for the food that is raised humanely.
No one is entitled to more than they are willing to work for.
I am ENTITLED to exactly what I put into something. If people demand cheap food and goods, they are going to get it at the cost of abused animals and workers in substandard conditions.

I do not support the egg industry and I am careful about the meat and goods I buy.

Personally I think taxpayers are entitled to keep more of their money.

And greyfield, says none of us are paying what we cost others?
NONSENSE WE taxpayers are paying for everything, the government and who they support get ALL of their income from us.
The government produces no product and generates no income, every dime they get is wrung from businesses and individuals.

If this wasn't true, then all the businesses that have left this country would still be here

Agree whole heartedly. I hope that people will look at what they want, agree to pay for it so that "factory farms" will not be able to sell their products at any price. Want to cut expenses, don't do it on your food. Cut TV, driving, internet, etc.......

A better way is to get the government out of it instead of giving them more of our money in higher costs, they already steal 54% of your paycheck isn't that enough without costs everywhere else?
