local wild rooster shot and killed :(

Did you read the comments. Most of the people were, at the very least, opposted to people running around shooting in a neighborhood.

But there was this one comment posted by "Sue" that said something like, this isn't a third world country, chickens shouldn't be running around in the streets.

Indeed! We should have morons firing guns running around in the street instead? What a tool!

I hope that jerkwad moves to Sue's neighborhood. Maybe it will make her feel civilized.

I'm glad they put down the guys address, hopefully the locals will give him a piece of their minds. Doesn't sound like anyone living by the rooster had a problem with it. Sounds like the guy was just a MAN man and decided to take it upon himself to bag a rooster

There's a right way and a wrong way....... even the article seems to agree that this was the wrong way.

I agree, this is just terrible. I don't understand what kind of a moron would do something like that. I bet he thought he'd play "hero" for a day with his deed. Unbelievable.

I think the chickens should have been cooped and their owners responsible for their safety. Chickens are largely domesticated and should be kept safe from two and four legged preds. It puts a bad light on chicken owners and the idea that they just "run free". Great if you can keep them semi contained on your property and don't roam off.

I also think the shooter was irresponsible in his actions as discharge of firearm in residential area like that for "just a bird." It makes him look bad, and the worst part, casts a bad shadow upon all gun owners. A firearm in a residential area like that shouldn't be shot unless it is self defense. Picking a bird off is not self defense.

I think both the chicken and gun owner here did not make the best decision and have added to the negative stereotype of both "hobby's."
