Just an update I think one of the eggs have piped this morning so I don't think there's long left![]()

That is the one which has enternally pipped I will update laterNice position of the pip, and looks like a strong hit too. Is that the one that looked internally pipped?
Yes towards the pointy end and no where near the air cell ?First calm down!
Is it toward the pointy end?
Ok thanks I'll watch and wait to see if it can unzip himself hopefully all goes well should I most the eggs right now?It looks like it made a really good hole. So it can breathe just fine, no need to panic. They can easily still hatch on their own that way.
Now the really hard part starts. Since it broke the membrane and the shell at the same time, without internally pipping into the air cell first, it could take up to 40ish hours before it actually tries to zip out.
At this point, I would wait at least until it has been 24 hours before doing anything. Just watch, and try to make sure it stays active.
But IF it starts zipping, and stops for more than a few minutes at a time (between punches), then you should probably be ready to jump in and help it finish zipping.

I have a chick pipping - right on schedule.
Of course, after buying an incubator, now my old silkie is sitting on the bantam frizzled cochin eggs. Murphy's laws. Might have two batches of chicks - 19 days apart. yikes.
