Lock down humidity help

One new comment. The chick in the incubator is rolling the two remaining eggs around. Egg 3 is pipping. Chick # 2 has knocked egg # 3 so that the pip hole is facing down - not totally underneath the egg, but headed that way. Should I take chick # 2 out and rotate the egg # 3 a tad so that the pip hole is facing a different direction?

Thanks so much.

LEARNING!! (again - it is the crazy person with the 3 day spread that has never used an incubator before....)
I would.... well, I did both. Removed the bumpy chick and returned the pip face up.

I didn't remove any until they were fluffy though. So cute how wobbly they are!

If you can do it quickly, without losing much humidity, I'd do it. Many say not to, but I do it all the time. Just make it quick (and careful!)

Hatched ones can encourage others to hatch, but I don't like pips down, I've had a couple die that way. So its really up to you. Your eggs, your chicks.

If the duckings don't eat in a few days would I have to hand feed it by any chance as it doesn't seem to be eating?

Are they drinking? Usually they start very quickly. I've never seen them not eat after more than 24 hours.

What have you offered them to eat?

Chick starter mix I've left it there for the duckling to eat with the water and tried to indroduce it with my hand etc it has pooed a bit is that a sign that it's eaten a bit?

When they eat, you will know it! They make a mess lol. Are they warm/cool enough, and moving around well?

You may move over to the other duck threads (if you haven't already) for other experiences with little ones. I've never had them not eat that long, but I do believe they will when they need to. If they are active and happy otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much.

Eta oops, this is in the duck section, I was thinking it was in Incubating section.
Maybe even start a new thread, or ask on The Duck Thread.

Yes is moving well peeping often and running about abit shaky with feet ? Normal ?
And I will start a new thread

Here are the two eggs that have hatched (from my 3 day spread). No more activity from 3rd egg that is pipping. 4th egg should pip today.

1 and 2 are doing well.

Thanks for all the feedback to make it possible to have these babies doing so well
